Ross news   Mr. Gowan has died Robert "Bob" Gowan Passed away on July 26th, 2007, in Palm Springs, CA, following complications after bypass surgery at the age of eighty. Bob resided most of his life in Marin County. He is survived by his two children, Margaret Briggs of the Azores, Portugal and John Gowan of Novato; and his three grandchildren, Anne, Julia and Jack Briggs of the Azores, Portugal. Bob was a teacher and a principal in the Reed Union School District and Superintendent/Principal of the Ross School District. He served in the military during World War II. Bob was an avid tennis player and active member of the Mt. Tamalpais Racquet Club in Larkspur.
