This is the rock formation up close.
It resembled a large stone trail marker but there was no obvious
reason for it to be there. I found it only because I was searching
for minerals in a remote area that very few people would ever
have bothered with. Somebody had built an apparent monument.
For a moment I thought I had discovered something of archaeological
significance. But then I noticed broken glass left behind from
someone's broken bottle. I knew then that I wasn't the first
person in modern times to see it. Still, no one else on Geo Adventure
2004 saw this marker but me. |
