Death: April 16, 1839 in Hague, Warren County, New York

 

Patience Waste, born Nov. 16, 1782 in Wilmington, Windham County, Vermont. She married Uriah Balcom about 1800 in Whitingham. Uriah, his father, and his brothers were living in Vermont in 1800. After they married, Uriah and Patience Balcom moved to Hague, Warren County, New York. Before Patience was born, her father Bezaleel and the Waste family had lived in Hague for a year or two. Her brother Uri Waste and his wife Patty's family also settled in Hague so Patience had family ties to the area when they moved there.

Her husband Uriah Balcom served in the War of 1812 as a captain in the 23rd Regiment (Cook's), New York Militia. Uriah died on Nov. 1, 1832 in Hague, New York. Patience died on April 16, 1839 in Hague. By about 1843, Uriah's family had migrated to Carroll County, Illinois.

 

Uriah Balcom

Birth: Sept. 11, 1778 in Sudbury, Middlesex County, Mass.
Death: Nov. 1, 1832 in Hague, Warren Co., New York

Uriah was the son of Micah Balcom, born in 1744 in Sudbury, Middlesex County, Mass. and Catherine Harrington, born in 1755 also in Sudbury. Micah Balcom fought in the American Revolution. He served as a private in Lieutenant Ephraim Wheeler's company of Col. Ebenezer Brooke's Regiment. Micah died on June 10, 1811 in Hague, New York.

Uriah Balcom served in the War of 1812. He was a captain in the 23rd Regiment (Cook's) of the New York Militia. He died on Nov. 1, 1832 in Hague, Warren Co., New York.
