This is the tombstone of my great-great-grandmother
Mary Waste. Her maiden name was Mary Catherine McIntosh. She
is buried next to her husband John Jackson Waste in the Chico
cemetery.
Mary died at the young age of 24.
Her tombstone had a three-line inscription but only the first
two lines can be read today:
"For O, there's naught
but happiness,
in that bright heavenly home,
- - - - - - unreadable -
- - - - -"
Mary's tombstone is different than
the others in the Waste family plot. It appears to be made of
pink marble and is facing the opposite direction than all the
others. |
