Since we could tell that the Hull
Mine was not only safe but also well ventilated, we went exploring.
In one room we found piles of fluorite. In this picture George
is taking a close look at the top of the old ladders that were
left in the fluorite room. But the best pieces seemed to be already
on the ground. They weren't the very best specimens so we grabbed
a bucket of them and left. The Hull Mine didn't turn out to be
that productive but that night, right near the mine entrance,
we found what we were looking for. The numerous mine dumps above
ground had lots of beautiful red calcite with blue fluorite.
