A Day at the Bluebird Mine, Arizona

Inside the Bluebird Mine

Chlorophane, variety of fluorite

Simulated image showing the floor of the Bluebird Mine after exposing the chlorophane fluorite to UV then turning off the light. The greenish phosphorence was beautiful and long-lasting. Chlorophane should be kept out of the sun by wrapping it up carefully or it will lose it's phosporescence, we've heard.

Another simulation showing another combination of fluorescent minerals found at the Bluebird Mine. This represents a combination of scheelite (white), apatite (yellow) and the greenish chlorophane.

We also collected non-fluorescent heubnerite in front of the Bluebird Mine.
