 Living in Sandpoint, Idaho

1961-1962

Our house in the Selkirk Mountains of Sandpoint

This is the house we lived in. Among other unusual features, there was a swimming pool the size of a small lake.  On the right is the shallow end of the enormous pool. Click on them for a better view. A fast-running mountain stream on the property supplied the pool water and an occasional frog.

Lots of Northern Leopard Frogs lived in the creeks and ponds on our property.   The border with Canada was so close we could go on family outings to British Columbia and Alberta provinces.

Jim Waste, my Dad, who grew a heavy black beard towards the end of our stay in Sandpoint.

My Dad was known around northern Idaho as "The Gun Collector". He eventually acquired an excellent antique gun collection.
